Never heard of an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist and have questions about therapy with one?
If so, you’re in for a treat as this article will talk in more detail about what’s so different and unique about working with a EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist.
Why choose to work with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
What makes working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist so different to working with another type of therapist?
What’s the process of working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
Those are just a few of the questions I’m answering in this article.
So let’s get started.
Questions about the therapy process with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist
What is therapy with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
Therapy with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist is a holistic one.
In that, it brings together an array of perspectives from Neuroscience, Spirituality, Psychology, Energy Psychology, Personal Development and Metaphysics to support people in overcoming their struggles.
In addition, it’s a therapy that seeks to integrate and align your mind and body so there isn’t a contradiction between what you believe, think and feel and how you act and react towards the people, places, situations and experiences in your life.
Therefore, working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist isn’t like working with your average therapist.
Since its focus is on teaching you how to use the most powerful tool you’ve got (your mind) to your advantage.
As well as, teaching you how to move down from your head and into your body through practising the art of mindfulness, meditation, moment to moment awareness and noticing the sensations within your body (see also: 4 MIND-BLOWING TOOLS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR WORLD AND HELP YOU TO OVERCOME PAST REGRETS).
So it’s not only about making you feel better in the moment of talking about your struggles but in the long run.
How working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist teaches you how to use the most powerful tool you’ve got
1. Being on your side
Working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist teaches you how to use the most powerful tool you’ve got by firstly being on your side and allowing you to start where you are.
Therefore, giving you the space to talk about your struggles and then providing you with commentary and validation on what it is you are experiencing, why you are experiencing it and what action steps you can take to resolve your struggles (see also: WHAT DO YOU WANT? (HOW TO FIGURE IT OUT AND GET WHAT YOU WANT)).
Therefore, not only do you feel heard, seen and understood but you also feel that you have a deeper understanding, acceptance, awareness and compassion for yourself and the situations you’re struggling with within your life.
As a result, making you feel motivated to move your life forward by putting into practice the advice and guidance, tools and practices that are given to you to help you to alleviate your struggles in your everyday life (see also: HOW DO I FIND MY PASSION AND MOTIVATION?).
Secondly, they teach you how to use the most powerful tool you’ve got by encouraging you to use your imagination and to talk to yourself in a way that is supportive and loving of you, instead of being critical and judgemental of yourself.
2. Working with your Body
Teaching you how to use the most powerful tool you’ve got (your mind) then supports you in working with your body too, which is the second ingredient to seeing transformational results in your life.
Since you need to be able to be on your own side when it comes to working with your body and subconscious mind in order to be able to uncover your limiting beliefs when meditating and as you go about your day.
As it’s only by doing this that you can dissolve your limiting beliefs on an embodied level not only on a conscious level.
Therefore, having lasting effects.
How to think about working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
The way I like to think about working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist is like working with a coach but with fewer questions (that you don’t know the answer to), to answer.
But also like a theory and a driving test in that, it seeks to make the impractical, that is the theory of what you’re learning about yourself, practical in your everyday life.
Why work with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
EFT and Matrix Reimprinting (in my understanding) have no limitations on who they can be used on.
However, a tool like Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR), for instance, (as far as I am aware) can’t be used on everybody.
What’s so great about EFT and Matrix Reimprinting?
Similarly to your thoughts, your emotions are energy.
Therefore, are attracting people, places, situations and experiences equal to those emotions (see also: IS YOUR LIFE FEELING OFF BALANCE? WHY YOU NEED TO MAKE YOURSELF A PRIORITY AND HOW TO DO IT).
As a result, the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting during your therapy sessions, support you in changing your emotions on a subconscious, energetic and vibrational level.
Therefore, leaving you feeling happier and calmer.
What happens during therapy sessions where EFT and Matrix Reimprinting are used?
To be clear EFT and Matrix Reimprinting are not used in every session.
Instead, they are selectively used by your therapist when you raise any difficult memories and occasionally, beliefs that might be holding you back from moving forward in life.
This is because it isn’t solely EFT and Matrix Reimprinting, which supports you in addressing your struggles.
It’s also your ability to take on responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, actions and reactions as it’s only then you can get the support you need from your therapist and can work on your struggles (where appropriate) with EFT and Matrix Reimprinting.
Therefore, bringing your therapy sessions forward.
What happens in therapy for anxiety with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
The process of having someone who you can trust and rely on to listen to you and give you the support you need on whatever you’re struggling with, week in week out, helps to lessen your anxiety both in and out of the therapy room over time.
As you’re more likely to be able to recognise the anxiety within you when it arises and understand it so you can talk to yourself in a way that will reduce your anxiety.
However, it’s also the tools and practices you decide to implement on a daily basis, which also contribute to reducing your anxiety as they make you feel more ground and therefore, safer in your body (see: HOW TO FEEL SAFE? (WITH PRACTICAL TOOLS INCLUDED)).
How difficult is therapy with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
Therapy with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist and in fact any therapist, is challenging.
However, the more you work with your therapist the easier it becomes precisely because of the relationship you’re building with your therapist.
And thus, your increasing ability and resilience to be able to move through your struggles.
Why is therapy so hard with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist ?
Part of the reason therapy is difficult is because you’re addressing thoughts, feelings and beliefs about yourself that you may not currently be aware of.
Therefore, when they come to light, as a result of your reflections (see also: 3 TOOLS TO GROW OUTSIDE THERAPY SESSIONS), they reinforce you’re already existing subconscious beliefs around there being something wrong with you and you not being good enough.
Therefore, making you feel bad about yourself (see also: 9 HEALTHY AND UNHEALTHY WAYS TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL BETTER).
The other part of the reason why therapy is so hard is that we find it so difficult to be honest with ourselves about what we’re truly thinking, feeling and believing that we’d rather avoid it than admit it (see also: PART ONE: HOW TO TAKE ON RESPONSIBILITY FOR CHANGING THE OUTCOME OF YOUR LIFE?).
Therefore, we tend to blame others because it’s just easier for us to see the things we don’t like in ourselves in others than it is to see them within ourselves.

How long does therapy take per session with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
I have seen therapy sessions, which last 50 minutes, 1 hour, 1 hour and a half.
It really depends on the therapist.
How long does therapy take to work with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
Therapy with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist takes as long as four years or more.
However, this is a tricky question to answer since it is dependent on your experiences and your ability and willingness to take on responsibility for the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, actions and reactions you’re choosing to make on a day-to-day basis towards the people, places, situations, experiences and challenges in your life.
As well as, you’re willingness and determination to implement the tools and practices given to you, especially those that involve being silent and sitting still.
Why does therapy take so long with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist?
Therapy tends to take so long because it is partly dependent on you deriving to your own conclusions, as opposed to ALL the answers being given to you.
And as I said earlier you’re willingness to be open and honest with yourself and your therapist about you’re struggles and what you’re truly thinking and feeling about yourself in relation to those struggles.
However, that’s what you’ll find is pretty exciting about the therapy process with an EFT and Matrix Reimprinting Counselling Psychotherapist, that is, the realisations you have about yourself and others over time that you hadn’t realised before.
Sometimes, this can be scary I’m not going to lie, but with the support and reassurance of your therapist and the tools they provide you with, you can and will overcome them.
Can therapy be a bad thing?
Therapy can only be a bad thing if you believe it to be.
And have other beliefs, such as, therapy is pointless because then you won’t follow through on your commitment to working with a therapist.
And therefore, the process.
As a result, quitting therapy at a time when you in fact need it most.
Questions about therapy: Inside the therapy room with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist
What should you never tell your therapist?
You come to realise through the process of working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist that there is nothing you should never tell your therapist because all thoughts, all feelings, all beliefs are valid and matter in your development.
Therefore, what you think might not be relevant or important to raise, might in fact be relevant and important to your therapist for you to raise.
As a result, it requires you to take a risk.
Can you tell your therapist too much?
No is the short answer. You really cannot tell your therapist too much.
Since the premise of therapy with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist is on accepting and allowing you to be fully and completely as you are in this moment and the next moment in time.
Do therapists lie in therapy?
Therapists I believe have an obligation and a duty not to lie to their clients.
However, what I’ve realised is if you have a tendency not to believe and trust others when they speak, you’ll also have a tendency to occasionally not believe and trust your therapist too.
But as they say, seeing is believing.
So it’s only once you have personal experience of what your therapist is saying to you, can you believe and trust them.
Do therapists give up on clients?
A great therapist will not give up on their clients.
Instead, they will either repeat what they have said or find a different way to communicate what they have said to you in the hope it will get through to you this time.
Since thankfully, they understand how people and the mind works.
Why can’t I look at my therapist?
Working with a therapist can be an uncomfortable experience since the focus is solely on you, it’s only the two of you in a room and there are no background noises or distractions.
Therefore, not being able to look at your therapist in the eye is normal and natural.
However, it’s not a reason to not engage in the therapy process because like everything in life the more you do it, the easier it gets.
Goal setting questions about therapy
What do I want from therapy?
My advice on this question is to not bother asking yourself this question because all that matters is that there are one or more areas in your life where you’re experiencing challenges.
Therefore, have something to raise and discuss with your therapist already, which is enough for you to go through the process of working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist to get the support you need.
In addition, as frustrating as it might feel not to have a clearly defined goal or aim, that’s not how working with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist works.
They work on the basis that whatever your struggling with is going to come up organically during the sessions week by week.
So the focus is solely on resolving what you’re bringing up week by week.
And it’s by doing that, that you’re going to get to your eventual goal of feeling better about yourself, and therefore, changing your life.
Does therapy actually help?
Yes therapy with an EFTMR Counselling Psychotherapist, does actually help.
In fact, you’ll start noticing some changes within yourself within months.
Is it OK to not go to therapy?
There are two times I would say it’s okay not to go to therapy. The first one is when you’re heart and mind aren’t really in it because then you’re not going to put your all into it so you’ll want to quit sooner rather than later.
And the second time is when there is something that’s calling you more than going to therapy.
This is because often we have to find out certain things about ourselves before we hit our own individual rock bottoms.
And only then can we get the support we need.
Why do I not want a therapist?
Fear is often the reason why you and many others don’t want a therapist.
Often they’ll put it down to the fact that they don’t need it or they don’t have the money or time but on a subconscious level it’s because they’re afraid.
In particular, of being judged, criticised, being heard, seen and understood, being vulnerable and having to face their struggles.
